I founded The Rewild Project over ten years ago, shortly after settling in the Forest of Dean to raise my son.
By then, I had already lived several lifetimes’ worth of experience — on the road, on the land, in resistance camps, in forests, and in communities held together by shared purpose rather than comfort.
For much of my adult life, I was travelling. Not drifting, but learning — gathering skills, perspectives, and ways of living that sit outside conventional systems. Eventually, I reached a point where I wanted to stop moving and start building: to root those experiences somewhere and put them to use in service of something lasting.
The Rewild Project grew out of that decision.
A central part of my role is as a weaver and connector.
I bring people together — skills with needs, ideas with land, experience with opportunity.
I notice patterns, collect knowledge, and help turn fragments into something coherent and shared.
This way of working has been shaped by years of moving between communities,
projects and networks, and understanding how easily good ideas are lost if they aren’t held properly.
My time in Canada and then Norway & Sweden were formative.
I deepened my relationship with land and learned respect for Indigenous perspectives where ceremony,
ritual and responsibility are not optional extras,
but part of how communities endure.
From this grew a commitment to creating spaces where people can gather with purpose
— to mark transitions, learn together, and remember what matters.
Practically, my work spans edible landscapes, regenerative forestry and arboriculture, propagation and grafting,
traditional building and craft, and natural material work.
Alongside this, I work with somatic and embodied practices
— including neuro-somatic therapy, Dao Yin, Qi Gong, breathwork and cold immersion
— which inform how I hold space, support resilience and work safely with challenge.
A significant part of my work is with young people and groups who benefit from structure, trust and meaningful work.
I value clarity over control, responsibility over performance, and consistency over charisma.
My path and Emma’s ran in parallel for many years
— different landscapes, similar questions, the same direction of travel.
Collaboration was inevitable.
Together, we’re focused on building a lasting refuge for learning, land access and community
— not as escape, but as response.
SEED is about laying foundations that can hold people over time.
Not rushing. Not romanticising.
Building what can last, with memory intact.
