August 28 — Sturgeon Moon
A moon tied to sustenance and respect for natural limits. It invites reflection on taking only what is needed and honouring the reciprocal relationship between humans and ecosystems.
In 2026, we will mark the full moons with conscious drumming
— to deepen our connection to the land, to listen,
to set intentions, and to gather a forest-based community.
This is about remembering ourselves as part of the living landscape: the woods,
the soil, the seasons, and each other.
We come not to perform or consume, but to feel rhythm, to stand together, and to offer something back to the earth.
This work rises from ancestral, land-based ways of gathering
— held with care, respect & presence.
We gather around moonrise and drum together for around an hour,
letting the rhythm build and settle before closing the circle.
Please dress for the weather and bring warm layers and a hot, non-alcoholic drink.
Practical details are shared quietly, closer to the time.
To receive them, send an email with your phone number to be added to the full moon text list.
On the night, there will be a simple option to donate towards the project and the practical costs of holding these gatherings, or you can use the link below if that’s easier.
