Providing for Arbour training

The Rewild Project are the main training providers for Arbour Training CIC who are a local social enterprise based in the Forest Of Dean. Arbour Training have secured support from the Forestry Commission and we, with them, have been given permission to access disused and neglected coppice in the Forest of Dean, Arbour has also been given a lease by the F.C to eco refurb an old shed into a green woodwork centre, watch this space.

We also work with them closely on their New Leaf program where we train and help local (often long-term unemployed) people learn and be involved in coppicing and green woodwork crafts.  The video shows a recent 10-day course we ran back in Nov 2017.  The video is made by a local young artist, Laurie Cousins on behalf of us and funded and supported by Foresters Forest, Heritage Lottery Funding and Forestry Commission.  You can watch the other video made for Arbour Training on there website.

These interviews are of people taking part in The New Leaf Project leaning skills like coppicing, traditional craft skills such as green woodwork. By spending time in the woods and leaning these skills the participants can also lean about becoming self employed.
