Charlie Berrow
HR Coordinator, Safeguarding Children Lead, Admin
Since she was young, Charlie has always felt a connection to nature and tried to live as sustainably as possible. She has always loved gardening, growing veg, camping and being outdoors. She moved to the Forest of Dean with her husband and son in 2021 and got in touch with The Rewild Project due to her love of nature and a wish to connect with the local community.
Charlie home educates her son who also loves to be outdoors, walking, climbing, kayaking etc. As a family they enjoy cycling, foraging, walking, camping, splashing in streams and anything outdoors.
Charlie is passionate about well-being, yoga and mindfulness, having practiced yoga for over twenty years. She is excited to have more space to practice in her new home. Practising her own yoga and meditation, she finds that it reduces stress and improves well-being and loves sharing this (and all the other benefits) with other Mums. She is a qualified yoga teacher, focusing on reducing stress and burnout for busy Mums. Charlie particularly enjoys teaching her Restorative Yoga for Busy Mums and Mums-to-be class, seeing the stress melt away and how relaxed Mums are after the class. She also teaches children’s yoga and family yoga.
Charlie is a qualified Montessori Teacher. She has a background in teaching and Early Years, having worked with children and families for 25 years, including in international Montessori schools in the UK and Poland. She spent nine years running an Ofsted registered Nursery and Forest School in the UK, including out of school clubs. Charlie is passionate about outdoor education and connecting children with nature through creative and fun activities and growing, planting and caring for plants and animals.
Charlie has worked for other charities including Malvern Community Forest, where she helped run outdoor family fun days aimed at connecting children and families with the outdoors and teaching parents the benefits of outdoor play. She also volunteered with the National Childbirth trust for two years, with Scouting UK for two and a half years and for various local charities, such as toddler groups and six years with a youth group.
Charlie is excited to use her skills to support the work of The Rewild Project.
