Ancestral Skills & Animal Use

/riˈwīld/ (verb)

To reverse the process of domestication. To return to a more wild or self-willed state.

Before humans settled and began domestication, people similar to modern humans had evolved to live in a land full of wildness.

We learnt to build shelters, make fire, gather and process food, make fibers for clothing, tools and crafts. We could identify extensive flora and fauna, migrate and navigate through different terrain and seasons.

learning these skills is how we reconnect with nature and our ancestors, as well as show respect to the living communities who still practice these lifeways and spirituality.

People are usually intrigued to know what ancestral living is, maybe it is because we have spent 99.9% of our existence as a species doing it?

Through coming together with the best intentions and sharing our innate knowledge then again we may become great stewards of this land. Lets try reconnecting / relearning the ways of shelter building, collecting water / food, hunting , friction fires and cooking. If this all fails we still have our gadgets and stuff for now, but hopefully we will have fun going without for a while…

We can provide a ancestral living skills day or workshop and adapt any parts you or your group want to experience. Get in touch for more details.
